Your Mentor

Chris West MA
Chris holds a Masters Degree in psychology with Mindfulness-based approaches, and has studied with some of the world's most well-renowned and gifted embodiment and spiritual teachers.
He combines both Western psychological understandings with Eastern practices of meditation and self enquiry to bring about lasting internal transformation.
Chris has been teaching anxiety transformation online and in-person workshops and courses since 2017 and has helped hundreds of people both one-one and in group settings step into a much more peaceful, embodied and empowered way of being.
He is also qualified in BBTRS, a method of trauma therapy using the breath, movement, and conscious emotional expression to release trauma and old emotional tensions from the body and mind.
Chris is also a keen musician, and when he isn't meditating or working you will often find him singing and creating music with his guitar in hand. He also enjoys climbing, playing tennis, walking his dogs, dancing, watching movies and performing comedy.

Here’s what we’ll be covering throughout our 8 weeks together:

Week One - The Two Fundamental Principles for Healing Anxiety.
These two fundamental principles will be the cornerstone to your healing journey.
This week you will be given a thorough overview of exactly what it takes to heal and awaken through anxiety.
In short, you will experientially learn how to find freedom from, and stop believing the fearful thoughts in the head, as well as learning how to come BACK INTO THE BODY, meeting your fear and anxiety with the love in your heart!

Week Two - Reparenting.
This week we cover the 3 fundamental steps to reparenting. A profound and powerful practice for healing anxiety through Self-Touch, Self Talk and Self-Awareness.
You will learn what it truly means to love yourself.
Just like how a child that is anxious and afraid needs the loving presence of a grounded adult to bring them back to a sense of safety, our own nervous systems are craving and needing this loving presence from US.

Week Three - Finding Inner Clarity.
This week we dive deeply into the True Nature of Mind.
You will explore what thoughts really are, and more importantly, the field, or space within which they arise!
When you start shifting attention away from identification with fearful anxious thoughts, and into the neutral, peaceful space within which they arise, you will find a dramatic change in your anxiety levels.
Ahhh its such a relief to not be tormented by the anxious thinking any longer!

Week Four - Cutting the Vicious Cycle of Anxiety
Anxiety can be seen as a gift!
This powerful practice can be the difference between your fear and anxiety causing you immense suffering in the mind, to your anxiety becoming an incredibly force of Awakening for you.
When you learn to catch the fearful reaction in the body, before it rises up into the thinking, this powerful energy of fear has the potential to completely transform your consciousness.

Week Five - Feel the Fear and Do it ANYWAY!
This practice is simple, but cannot be overstated!
So many of us live behind the perceived safety of our comfort zones.
Even our spiritual beliefs and practices can become an excuse to not face certain areas of our life!
This week you will be encouraged to look deeply into where your zone of comfort ends, and encouraged to walk courageously towards that which you are afraid!
You will learn to break free from the straight jacket of fear and societal conditioning, and learn to fearlessly spread your Light to the world!

The world needs your authentic self to fully express your gifts and the Light that you are, in whichever way it wants to express through you!

Week Six - Unwinding Trauma with Love!
We all have trauma laid down within our bodies to varying degrees.
For some people this trauma is obvious after a shocking event that happened in the life, for others, the trauma is playing out under the surface, but there may not be an obvious event that created it.
This trauma is actually the root cause of anxiety, and can have one living in a near continuous state of fight and flight, with the Vagus Nerve never fully settling and relaxing.
This week you will be learning how to meet the body, and the trauma that it holds WITH LOVE.
It is love that heals trauma, it is only love that heals trauma.
You are going to learn gentle, compassionate practices and inquires to meet, soothe and heal these traumatic patterns, so that you can live a life of peace, ease and spiritual fulfilment.

Week Seven - Discovering Your Fearless Nature!
There is a place within every human being which is completely without fear.
A space inside your consciousness which has never and can never be harmed.
When we start to sense into and uncover this place within ourselves, we come to intuitively know at a very deep level, that what we really are can never be harmed, and will never die!
This is not a mental thing, but rather a realisation to be felt in the body.
This week you will be learning through inquires to get deeply in touch with this place, so that the anxious mind naturally starts to relax into the effortless peace and goodness of Being!
You will begin to feel truly safe again!

Week Eight - Resting the Nervous System!
As you know, living with fear and anxiety is hard.
For the anxiety sufferer, especially if it is intense, it can feel like something within you is always on guard, can never quite rest, can never quite relax.
This can be very tiring.
You may or may not realise the impact this anxiety is having on your nervous system, and the existential exhaustion that may be laying within your system.
This week you are going to learn how to soak your nervous system within the warm bath of your own loving presence.

Hi Chris,
Things are going really well since the course. I got some really good results back and passed with a 2:1 for my second year. I’ve had my last session for now with my therapist too and all my trauma is clear for the first time and life’s going to be really good for me.
I’m hopeful now and just feel a lot more at ease with the world, and though there may still be worries at times, I’m able to see myself as separate from them and don’t see them as me anymore and identify them with the self - I just see them as parts now that may be worried or scared at times and that’s okay too as I know it’s just a part of me.
I’m also able to tell people how I feel more in situations that would worry me previously, such as when I would be worried about mini confrontations type scenarios that aren’t confrontations as such but that I would previously shy away from out of fear and worry. And it’s okay and I’ve realised that I can have these conversations with neutral emotions and in a way that I don’t need to worry about them.
