Your Mentors

Chris West MA

 

Chris holds a Masters Degree in psychology with Mindfulness-based approaches, and has studied with some of the world's most well-renowned and gifted embodiment and spiritual teachers.

He combines both Western psychological understandings with Eastern practices of meditation and self enquiry to bring about lasting internal transformation.

Chris has been teaching anxiety transformation online and in-person workshops and courses since 2017 and has helped hundreds of people both one-one and in group settings step into a much more peaceful, embodied and empowered way of being.

He is also qualified in BBTRS, a method of trauma therapy using the breath, movement, and conscious emotional expression to release trauma and old emotional tensions from the body and mind.

Chris is also a keen musician, and when he isn't meditating or working you will often find him singing and creating music with his guitar in hand. He also enjoys climbing, playing tennis, walking his dogs, dancing, watching movies and performing comedy.

Alex Watson

Alex is a body-based therapist, specialising in bioenergetics, Reichian breathwork and somatic meditation. He is one of the UK’s leading experts in this field and helps individuals heal trauma and past conditioning through the doorway of the body. Alex has been on an incredible and heartfelt journey of healing from PTSD, Anxiety, and Insomnia.

Having endured years of emotional struggle and hard times, he now believes and teaches that any pain or suffering he and others experience is ultimately an opportunity for transformation.

Wow. What a journey... This course and what it has taught me in the last three months has been one of the most important and rewarding things to ever happen to me. Hi Chris,

Things are going really well since the course. I got some really good results back and passed with a 2:1 for my second year. I’ve had my last session for now with my therapist too and all my trauma is clear for the first time and life’s going to be really good for me.

I’m hopeful now and just feel a lot more at ease with the world, and though there may still be worries at times, I’m able to see myself as separate from them and don’t see them as me anymore and identify them with the self - I just see them as parts now that may be worried or scared at times and that’s okay too as I know it’s just a part of me.

I’m also able to tell people how I feel more in situations that would worry me previously, such as when I would be worried about mini confrontations type scenarios that aren’t confrontations as such but that I would previously shy away from out of fear and worry. And it’s okay and I’ve realised that I can have these conversations with neutral emotions and in a way that I don’t need to worry about them.

I’m also getting on really well with my Dad now which is amazing and feel really comfortable around him for the first time maybe ever (or at least it feels this way).

I’m just full of love again and excited for this next and probably last year of my life as a student.

I don’t have any shame anymore either and I know I’m a really good person and that I’m really intelligent too which is a really nice place to be. I’m also happy that I’m unique and I truly love myself now too.

''Before joining the program I experienced intense suffering, constantly under attack from negative thoughts. I experienced anxiety in a number of ways including social anxiety, health anxiety, panic attacks and massive adrenaline rushes which rendered me unable to carry out the simplest of day to day tasks, let alone seek gainful employment. Had it not been for the generosity of my loving partner, I may have ended up on the streets or worse.
 
Anxiety was impacting my life in many ways. I left my job with no alternative because I could not deal with the sense of dread it created. I had become riddled with suicidal thoughts, and was living under constant attack from my mind, both as a victim of my circumstances blaming the world for my problems, and as my hardest critic blaming myself for the action and/or lack of action taken that led to that point. I often did not get out of bed, or if I did barely made it past the couch. I became afraid of doing the simplest tasks such as cooking healthy food or filling my garden bird feeders with seed. The scariest thing was that I saw no way out other than running away, or asking to be institutionalised.
 
I was lucky enough to be scrolling on Facebook at the right time. I clicked on the advertisement for the programme and was sent a link to one of Chris's pre recorded lessons. I watched Chris and Sion talk about their lives and give some insights into anxiety and some basic approaches. First, I was taken at what they had to say and by how genuinely kind both men were . Their approaches took a completely different direction unlike anything else I'd encountered through counselling and CBT. What they said resonated deeply within me and made so much sense. While watching this video lesson, I became so relaxed for the first time in ages that I nodded off! I re-watched the video again, and again and became hooked.
